PHLogo

Introduction

Logo is a very simple programming language with origins that stretch back to the time when computers were mush simpler (and had lot less bits). It's a very good language with which to teach programming.

• It has a very simple syntax -> Easy to learn!
• It is easy to write -> Easy to extend!
• Turtle graphics -> Fun and immediate.

This implementation is written from scratch using C++, and also serves as a way for people to see examples of "Boost" library features in use, so it serves a dual purpose as a leanring tool for programming, and as a learning tool for C++ programming.

Currently under development, PHLogo is developed exclusively with the idea of "Test Driven Design/Development" in mind, and in fact one of the early verbs to be added to the language was a "testsuite" verb used for writing tests against the language.

Current status

It's still early days, but already the following is available:

• Basic verbs like print, repeat, cs, make etc.
• Turtle graphics, pd, pu, lt, rt etc.
• Lists and arrays.
• Full expressions including floating point
• HTTP server and a HTML driver program using a "canvas" HTML5 element to display the turtle graphics
• TDD features
• Parser written using Boost QI (Spirit) to an intermediate streamable form
